The app gathers location data while in use (never stored server-side), authentication details from Apple/Google sign-in, user-submitted shelter information shared publicly, and verification votes tied to user IDs to prevent duplicates.
Data serves core functionality: displaying nearby shelters, account authentication, attributing contributions to verified users, and preventing abuse through duplicate vote restrictions.
Information resides on Supabase (AWS-hosted) with row-level security restrictions. Authentication tokens use device-level secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), and HTTPS encryption protects all communications.
The app integrates Mapbox for mapping, Supabase for backend infrastructure, and Apple/Google for authentication — each subject to their respective privacy policies.
Account data persists while active; shelter contributions remain indefinitely for community continuity. Users may request account deletion and data anonymization within 30 days by contacting jeremiequenet@me.com.
The service targets users aged 13 and above.
